I'm just going to assume the seedings were assigned only on the basis of ensuring first round matchups between similar contestants (e.g. Lincoln vs. U.S. Grant) and not on relative degrees of quality. Otherwise I'd have to track you down and give you a good ass-whupping for seeding Mike Royko at #15 while the idiot Mariotti is seeded at #9.

Pete - You'd be right. I too was troubled at giving Royko a #15, but it didn't even occur to me that I could've given Mariotti a 15. You see, this selection committee stuff is not easy.
