Stalled

The Bathroom Scene, originally uploaded by Mitchkitter.

Now that I work in an office building, there has been another wrinkle to my neurotic lifestyle: using the bathroom. Quite frankly, I hate using the bathroom around work colleagues. Sometimes it cannot be helped, but I will usually avoid using the bathroom at work unless I absolutely have to.

In fact, my first year of college, I used to walk across campus (relax, it was like a 5 minute walk) to use the bathroom because I didn't like my dorm bathroom.

Anyway, some days if I'm feeling especially neurotic, I'll go to the floor above or below me to do my business. There, I run into a unique problem: bizarro world bathrooms! There is nothing more jarring than being in an identical looking hallway - as the differing floors on my building are - and then going into another room only to find it completely different. The sink is placed differently. The paper towels are in a strange location. Nobody has any idea where the wastebasket is.

It's what I imagine a bathroom in Australia must look like. Though I don't think I want to know. It can't be any worse than the bathrooms I experienced in Turkey. If you think a Turkish prison is bad, try using a Turkish toilet!
